In the closing session of GEN’s “The State of Multiomics and NGS” virtual summit, originally broadcast on April 23, 2025, Clive Brown, Chief Officer formerly at Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT), joins GEN editorial director, Kevin Davies, PhD.
Brown served as chief technology, innovation, and product officer at ONT until announcing his decision to step down in November 2024. During a successful 15-year tenure at ONT, Brown led the innovation of breakthrough technologies and product development designed to enable the analysis of anything, by anyone, anywhere. Brown has held a variety of roles in genomics R&D. Prior to joining ONT, he played a key part in developing the Solexa next-gen sequencing platform, which Illumina acquired and adopted in 2007.
